We stopped at our favorite rest-stop on the way to visit Michael, the Tahachapi train loop. We didn't have time to wait for a train to come by. But we did enjoy the short walk to the top of the tunnel.
In the top left pic you can see where the track above circles around on top of itself. You can also drive up higher on the mountain and watch from above as the train makes a complete loop over top of itself. Makes the drive to Bakersfield all worth it.

Landon would be sooooo excited to see this. It is his newest fascination. I think it is awesome you all think to stop along the way and make family memories. We need to start doing that.
I love those old railroad tunnels.If you notice the date on the bridge is 1916. That was the same year Grampa Dickey was born!
