Happy Viking Day!

Last Sunday we enjoyed a great party at Sister Boisvert's house celebrating the national holiday for her native country of Norway.

Lotsa Loma Linda

Another trip to the eye doctor today (for the umpteenth time this year...)
Lydia's prescription has changed: less far-sightedness than before but more astigmatism.

The good news is that her crossing has improved a lot. There's no crossing in her far vision. Close vision is now 8 instead of something like 22 (not sure what that means, but we're grateful.)
We went to a special kids store for the new frames because Lydia's now going to be sporting bifocals.
The magnification will allow her to see the close things better so that she won't strain so much to focus and hopefully the crossing will disappear.
Crossing our fingers (but not our eyes.)
Can't wait to see her with the newest accessory!

For Landon

Since somebody likes it I couldn't help myself from posting more. These were taken last Thanksgiving on our way to Aunt Ione's house. It was a really cool wintery California morning.

We love Trains

We stopped at our favorite rest-stop on the way to visit Michael, the Tahachapi train loop. We didn't have time to wait for a train to come by. But we did enjoy the short walk to the top of the tunnel.
In the top left pic you can see where the track above circles around on top of itself. You can also drive up higher on the mountain and watch from above as the train makes a complete loop over top of itself. Makes the drive to Bakersfield all worth it.

Michael's Day

We haven't seen our good friend, Michael since he moved to Bakersfield several months ago. Last Saturday we got the chance to celebrate his birthday with him and some other friends. It was so nice to see him again. Thanks for inviting us Sister Lauritzen!

Phew, we survived dinner at the restaraunt and still mostly smiling. It's a good thing for that balloon which kept Sam and Anna occupied when they got bored.

"The Ducky"

Michael's newest fashion statement.
