Saturday: Made a 90 minute drive to Kennedy Meadows with 5 youth in van. Not a ton of snow but we got in several hours of good sledding. Had to pull-over once halfway down the switch backs in 9-mile canyon because we smelled burning rubber. So glad Sister Wonnacott told me about their brakes once smoking coming down that canyon so I knew to watch for it.
Monday: Pouring rain most of the day except when it snowed huge slushy wet snowflakes for like 40 minutes while the girls were at gymnastics class. They got out in time to try to catch them on their coats and tongues. Lydia exclaimed. "It's snowing in Ridgecrest! It's our first snow of the year!" So exciting when you don't have to deal with it for 4 or 5 months straight, huh.
Back to sunny nice weather again today, but we're enjoying our brief rainy season immensely.
